Taskbox is a mobile email application made in Austin, TX by Taskbox, Inc. (“Taskbox”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Taskbox respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the Personal Information that you may provide us when using our website or mobile application.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy, please contact us at info@taskbox.co.

Information we collect:

Taskbox is a mobile email client that works with other providers (Gmail and Google Apps). When you log into your email account in Taskbox, you are granting Taskbox permission to securely access your information contained in or associated with those accounts. You are also providing your email address by logging into the application.

Taskbox uses OAuth, which is an open standard authorization protocol that allows third parties to access user data without the need to know a user’s password. This helps to keep your information as secure as possible. We never know or store your password.

When you correspond with us through email, you provide us with your name and email address. If you email us, we may keep your email message and contact information in order to respond to your message.

Local Storage:

Taskbox does store some information locally to your device, such as user-assigned priorities and due dates.

Contacts:

Taskbox has the ability to access your phone’s contact list (emails and names) in order to add email recipients quickly and securely. You will be asked for permission prior to Taskbox accessing your contacts, and can revoke access at any time through your phone’s settings. We will not use your contacts’ information for anything other than providing the Taskbox email service to you.

Push Notifications:

Taskbox sends you push notifications whenever you receive a new email message. You can turn these on or off by modifying the settings within the Taskbox app, or within your device’s notification settings.

Analytics:

Taskbox uses mobile and web analytic software to gather statistics and usage trends for product development purposes. The Taskbox mobile software may record data from your phone or tablet, such as how frequently you use the app, what actions you take, performance data, the type of hardware and software you are operating, and others. This kind of information helps us to administer the Taskbox service, improve the features and usability of our product, analyze new user trends, and collect information about use and growth of Taskbox in specific regions.

Communications:

We may use the information we collect or receive to communicate with you directly, such as occasional emails with company updates or surveys. We may also keep track of your interaction with the links in these messages for product development purposes. If you do not wish to receive these emails, you can opt-out by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the bottom of the emails, or by emailing us at info@taskbox.co.

Security:

Your privacy and security are extremely important to us. Taskbox complies with industry standard security practices to protect your data. Taskbox uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption when transmitting any and all information.

Children:

Taskbox’s services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without proper parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal information, we may take actions to terminate the account and any information provided. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please email us at info@taskbox.co.

Changes to Policy:

As Taskbox continues to grow and evolve, we may need to update this Privacy Policy in order to keep up with changes in our business and practices. We will post any changes, along with their effective date, in an easy to find area on our website. By continuing to use Taskbox, you agree to be bound by the terms of the new Policy.

Sharing and Disclosure:

Taskbox will never sell, share, or rent your information to third parties outside of Taskbox without your consent, except as noted below:

Taskbox may disclose your information if required for compliance with the law, such as to comply with a request from the government, to address a fraud or security issue, subpoenas, regulation or legal request, to protect the safety of any person, or to protect our own rights or property.

Taskbox works with third-party service providers to provide functions and services to us, and the Taskbox service to you. These providers will receive limited information as is reasonably necessary for the use of Taskbox.

If Taskbox is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In any of these events, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Taskbox website of any changes in ownership or uses of your information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your personal information.

In the event that we need to share data and statistics about our usage with third parties, including investors, all information will be aggregated and stripped of any and all personally identifiable information.

We also use social buttons provided by services like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Your use of these third party services is entirely optional. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third party services, and you are responsible for reading and understanding those third party services’ privacy policies.
